EURIDOL Financial Support For Master and Doctoral Students
EURIDOL offers several financial supports for its Master and Doctoral Students:
Attractiveness Grant (Master and Doctoral Student)
Support for additional training (Master and Doctoral Student)
Master 2 Internship allowances

Support for congress participation (Doctoral Student)
End-of-thesis support (Doctoral Student)
Applications are exclusively open to registered EURIDOL Master and/or Doctoral Students.
The allocation of supports is done according to the rules established by each support.
Calls for applications are published on the EURIDOL website. Applications received after the submission dead-line are not accepted.
The support for additional training and the support for congress participation are awarded all year long, without a specific call.
Any activity or study that received EURIDOL funding must explicitly state this source of funding in its publication / communication (EURIDOL ANR contract no.: EURIDOL ANR-17-EURE-0022).
Attractiveness grant
This support is open to future EURIDOL students starting the 1st year of a Master's degree or the 1st year of a Doctoral degree with EURIDOL.
Objective: Promote the enrolment of international students with high potential.
Budget: 500€ to 3000€ per person, to cover travel and/or settlement and/or registration costs.
Applications can be submitted from January each year to: euridol[at]unistra.fr
Applicants must use the Attractiveness Grant Application Dossier.
Applications are evaluated based on:
- Quality of the academic record
- Career plan
- Geographic origin.
Master’s: The allocation of the attractiveness grant is subject to:
- enrolment in one of the three Neuroscience Master tracks of the University of Strasbourg (NCI/NCO/JMN), AND
- admission to EURIDOL at the end of the 1st Master semester. Check the EURIDOL admission criteria.
Doctorate: The allocation of the attractiveness grant is subject to:
- enrolment in one of the Doctoral Schools of the University of Strasbourg, AND
- the doctoral student must do their thesis in one of the EURIDOL research teams on a pain related topic.
Master 2 Internship allowances
Each year, EURIDOL finances around 10 Master 2 internships (5-6 months each), allowing the host laboratories to save their funds for experiments of their interns.
Support for additional training
This support is open to all EURIDOL Master and Doctoral Students.
Objective: Support students with obtaining an additional professional certification (Animal experimentation certificate; European diploma in pain medicine; DU in hypnosis; etc.). It also aims at supporting students with their participation at a summer school / winter school.
Budget: Partial or complete financial support to cover additional training expenses. The amount of the financial support is specific to each application.

Requests are evaluated based on the relevance of the application to the career plan.
Thesis funding
Each year, EURIDOL finances several theses through its PhD-calls.

Support for congress participation
This support is open to all EURIDOL doctoral students (max. 1x/student).
Objective: Partial or complete financial support to cover travel costs and/or registration fees.
Budget: up to 500€/person
Requests for funding can be submitted all year long to: euridol[at]unistra.fr
Applicants must use the Support for Congress Participation Application Form.
It is recommended to submit the requests as early as possible, at least 2 months before the congress.
The requests are evaluated based on the following criteria:
- an active participation in the congress (conference/talk/..., poster)
- the type of congress (pain related?)
- the overall distribution of funds among the research teams.
Note:
- You are in a CNRS or Inserm laboratory: All reservations are made by your laboratory; refund is done via a ‘convention de reversement’.
- You are in a Unistra laboratory: If EURIDOL covers the entire transportation and/or accommodation costs, booking by EURIDOL is mandatory (refund is only possible if expenses are partly covered bu EURIDOL).
End-of-thesis support (transition project)
This support is open to all EURIDOL doctoral students who are in the final year of their thesis.
Objective: Support young researchers to prepare for their post-doctoral professional integration. The EURIDOL end-of-thesis support should be a bridge between the thesis and the postdoctoral project (“projet de soudure”).
Budget: between 500€ and 6000€ per person (amount calculated based on 500€/month).
Potential projects: Organisation of a scientific meeting, summer/winter school or thematic workshop; Participation in the EURIDOL training programme (teaching assistance, ...); etc.
Requests for funding can be submitted following the annual call for projects between April and June each year to: euridol[at]unistra.fr
The projects are evaluated based on the following criteria:
- the quality of the thesis work
- the relevance of the application to the postdoctoral project.
Any communication and publication resulting from the supported work/activity must acknowledge the ANR (reference: ANR-17-EURE-0022) and EURIDOL.
Note: The EURIDOL end-of-thesis support needs to be awarded before the thesis defence.
ITI supports and prizes
In addition to the EURIDOL supports, EURIDOL doctoral students who are in an ITI NeuroStra research team also have access to ITI NeuroStra supports and prizes, such as: end-of-thesis support, blitz lectures contest, etc.
Some EURIDOL research teams are in other ITIs (ITI IMS, ITI MAKErS, ITI Transplantex NG); please check directly with your laboratory.
