Brixham Foundation Prize Awarded to Ipek Yalcin!

Her work on chronic pain and anxiety-depression disorders earned her the Brixham Foundation Award.

The Foundation for Medical Research (FRM) has awarded prizes to 20 winners this year, including 3 researchers from Strasbourg. Among them is Ipek YALCIN, research director at the CNRS and head of the pain and psychopathology team at the Institut of Cellular and Integrative Neuroscience (INCI), who is also part of the EURIDOL scientific ecosystem. 

She received the Brixham Foundation Prize, worth 25 000 for her research into the links between chronic pain and anxiety and depression disorders. 

Her goal is to develop new tools to better diagnose, prevent and treat these pain-related diseases.

Professor Seiamek BAHRAM and Thomas BAUMERT were also honored for their work in immunology and liver diseases.
