Iris Trinkler is a neuroscientist who first studied emotion recognition deficits and the benefit of contemporary dance for people suffering from a neurodegenerative disease. With her team, she develops a research project on bodily and interoceptive consciousness and its role in emotion regulation and pain. This project naturally arose from her previous work with dancers and her expertise on empathy. She studies foremost people having suffered from violence. Another project looks at infants with a traumatic history and the impact of play and nature on neurodevelopment and self-confidence.
